Tom Rees Picture
I have a BA (Honours) degree, Class 2 Division 1, from Sheffield University (1990) and a PGCE from Leicester University School of Education (1991). Additionally, I have an MA in Child Psychology from Nottingham University, Child Development Research Unit (1994) and an MSc in Educational Psychology from London University, Institute of Education (1999). Prior to training as an Educational Psychologist, I held teaching posts within mainstream and special schools, in peripatetic Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, and as an assistant psychologist within the NHS.

I have practised for over 20 years as an Educational Psychologist and have worked in several different local authorities, both as a main-grade and senior practitioner, as well as in more recent independent practice. I have provided training and advice to mainstream and special school staff and worked systemically with colleagues in social care and health settings to provide an effective service to children, young people and their families.
I am experienced in the assessment of a range of specific and general learning difficulties, and in determining effective approaches to meet special educational needs (SEN). I have undertaken numerous private assessments with adults I education, with a focus on determining learning difficulties and in making recommendations to meet their needs.

I have worked for Conatus as an Associate Educational Psychologist since 2012. I enjoy the variety of work available and the highly supportive and personable staff who worked within and associated with the organisation.
